What is a "MyStudio™" Recording Studio?

A:

MyStudio™ is a state of the art, high definition audio and video recording studio designed for installation in malls and other high traffic, public, pedestrian areas. At MyStudio™ you can create a 3 minute music, modeling, comedy, dating, job search or personal message video. The studio allows you to choose from hundreds of virtual backgrounds for your video and thousands of karaoke songs. Your session will be burned onto a DVD right at the studio. You get all of this for only $20! In addition, you can join MyStudio.net and create a member profile account to view your video, share it with friends or even enter a contest.


Q:

Can people see me when I am recording my session?

A:

No. The unique MyStudio™ door is clear when the studio is not in use and turns completely opaque during your session giving you complete privacy. The studio is also sound proof and air conditioned for your comfort.

Is my video confidential?

A:

You own all the rights to the video that you create and you decide whether to keep it private or make it public.

How much does it cost to perform at a MyStudio™ Recording Studio?

A:

A MyStudio™ session costs $20 including a DVD.


Q:

How long are the MyStudio™ sessions?

A:

After you enter your activation ticket into the ticket reader inside the studio, you will have 45 seconds to adjust the camera to customize your video. Your recorded session will then begin and run for 3 minutes. Double sessions are available for $40.

Can I enter contests with my video?

A:

Every month MyStudio™ will soon be hosting a number of contests including contests sponsored by music labels, modeling agencies and comedy clubs. All you need to enter is a MyStudio™ video and a member account.

How do I buy a session?

A:

Each MyStudio™ Recording Studio has two touch screen sign-up stations. Simply follow the prompts and you will be issued an activation ticket to start your session after your payment.


Q:

Can I buy a session online?

A:

Yes. Go to "Purchase Session" on the MyStudio.net Home page and follow the instructions. After you complete your purchase you will be sent a confidential “Privacy Code” via email. Simply go to any MyStudio™ Recording Studio and enter your confidential Privacy Code. The studio will immediately print an activation ticket that you will use to start your session.


Q:

What are the advantages to purchasing a session online?

A:

If you purchase a session online you can customize your session with hundreds of backgrounds and karaoke songs that are not available at the Recording Studios. You will also avoid line ups.


Q:

How do I view my video online?

A:

To view your video online, enter the privacy code in the text box labeled "Privacy Code" on the MyStudio.net Home page.


Q:

Can I email MyStudio™ video to someone?

A:

From the website, you may e-mail the link to your video to virtually anyone you want. They will be able to click on the link and watch it immediately from MyStudio.net.


Q:

May I download a " MyStudio™" video to my mobile phone?

A:

Yes. When you watch a video on MyStudio.net, there will be a button on the video viewing page that will allow you to download the video.

What is a Privacy Code?

A:

Your privacy at MyStudio™ is paramount. Your video session will remain private and confidential in your control until you choose otherwise. A unique personal Privacy Code will be printed on the activation ticket that you will receive when you sign-in at a MyStudio™ Recording Studio. It is important to retain your privacy code so you can view your video online at MyStudio.net.


Q:

What is an Activation Ticket?

A:

Activation Tickets are issued and printed at the MyStudio™ Recording Studios when you purchase your session. To begin your session, you'll be asked to insert this ticket into the ticket reader inside the Recording Studio. Your ticket will be scanned and returned immediately. KEEP THIS TICKET - it contains the Privacy Code needed to view your videos at MyStudio.net.


Q:

Forgot your Username or Password?

A:

At the Member Login area of the Home page of MyStudio.net, click on "Forgot Username or Password?" You will be asked to enter your email address and answer the security question that you answered when you became a member. (e.g. "What's your Mother's maiden name"?) When you answer correctly, your username and password will be emailed to you.


Q:

May I upload my personal videos?

A:

MyStudio.net has been designed to only accept and host the high-resolution videos created at a MyStudio™.


Q:

May I use my own music in a MyStudio™ Recording Studio?

A:

Yes. When you purchase a session either online or at a MyStudio™ Recording Studio choose the prompt "perform to your CD". When you start your session you will be prompted to insert your audio CD into a CD player inside the studio. The CD player will play the first song on the track when your session begins. MyStudio™ does not accept MP3 players.


Q:

May I upload my own video background into a MyStudio™ Recording Studio?

A:

No. However, if your register and pay for a session online, you will be given the opportunity to choose from a much larger selection of backgrounds than you would if you registered at the MyStudio™ Recording Studio.


Q:

How long will my video be available at MyStudio.net?

A:

Your video will be available for viewing with your Privacy Code for a period of 30 days following your session. You may choose, within this 30 day period, to become a registered MyStudio® member and activate your video from the Activate Video page. Your performance will then be accessible on your MyStudio® Profile page for 12 months and can be extended longer at your option.

How do I choose a background at a MyStudio™ Recording Studio?

A:

A MyStudio™ Recording Studio has 2 sign-in stations with touch-screen monitors. You will be able to choose from many different backgrounds at a MyStudio™ Recording Studio. If you register for a session online, you will have over 500 backgrounds to choose from!

How do I become a member and create my own MyStudio™ profile?

A:

To become a member, go to MyStudio.net. Under the Member Login section, press "Create a Profile".


Q:

What are the benefits of being registered as a MyStudio™ Member?

A:

You will be able to create your own MyStudio™ profile page and customize it with your own photos, MyStudio™ videos and personal information and participate in the MyStudio™ social network. You will be able to enter contests including those sponsored by record labels, modeling agencies and comedy clubs. You will also be able to vote in various contests and have access to all public areas of MyStudio.net.


Q:

How many videos may I submit to a contest?

A:

You may submit as many different videos as you'd like in any one contest. However, you may not enter the same video to a contest more than once.


Q:

May I enter a contest if I am under 18 years of age?

A:

You may do so with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. When entering a contest, your parent or guardian will be required to email MyStudio.net with their consent. The consent information can be found in the contests section of the MyStudio.net Home page.


Q:

What should I do if my Activation Ticket is lost before I'm able to record a session?

A:

Simply contact us at contact@MyStudio.net and your money will be promptly refunded or a new Privacy Code will be issued online so that you can record a session at a later date.


Q:

What if I am not able to record a session on the same day that I purchase a Activation Ticket?

A:

Activation tickets are good for a maximum of 30 days from the date of purchase at any MyStudio™ location.


Q:

How long will I need to wait until my performance is available on the MyStudio.net website?

A:

The performances created at the MyStudio™ Recording Studios will be available to view within minutes after you have completed your session.


Q:

How long will I need to wait until my DVD is available?

A:

Your DVD will be burned right at the MyStudio™ Recording Studio when your performance is finished. The DVD takes approximately 3½ minutes to burn and your name will be printed on your DVD. The DVD dispenser is located on the outside of the Recording Studio.


What does the term "copyright" mean?

A:

A copyright is a set of exclusive rights granted by government for a limited time to protect the particular form, way or manner in which an idea or information is expressed. Copyright may subsist in a wide range of creative or artistic forms or "works", including literary works, movies, musical works, sound recordings, paintings, photographs, software, and industrial designs. Copyright is a type of intellectual property. You may not post to MyStudio.net any copyrighted material belonging to others without obtaining the prior written consent of the copyright owner. Permission for the posting of copyrighted material must be requested at Copyright@MyStudio.net in advance. It is the policy of MyStudio.net to terminate any Member who infringes on the copyright rights of others.


Q:

How do I report a copyright violation?

A:

To report a copyright violation or to register for any of MyStudio™ content protection tools for copyright owners, you can contact us at Copyright@MyStudio.net. This form is only to be used for copyright related issues.


Q:

Can I use the same email address to register for more than one account?

A:

MyStudio.net only allows one profile per email address. However you may:

  • Create a new email address and use that to sign up.

  • Choose to delete your previous account and use all your previous account information.

  • Change your previous profile's email address to something different and use your previous email for the new account.


Q:

What should I do if I am being harassed on MyStudio.net?

A:

If you feel you and/or someone you know are in danger, contact law enforcement immediately. Otherwise:

  • You may simply ignore this person. Most of the time, you will soon be left alone.

  • You can choose to block them from viewing your account.

  • Set your member profile to private.

  • Contact us at contact@MyStudio.net. Please be as detailed as possible.

Q:

How do I block MyStudio members from sending me spam?

A:

Go to the person's profile account that has been sending you spam. Click on the "Contact page”. In the Contact section click "Block User”.


Q:

What is a private profile?

A:

A private profile allows only members that you consent to be in your friend list to view your profile. Other users/members of MyStudio.net will not be allowed to view your profile.


Q:

What is a public profile?

A:

A public profile will allow all users/members of MyStudio.net to view your profile.


Q:

How do I set my profile to private?

A:

There are two ways to accomplish this:

  • Upon registration, click the button that is labeled "Private".

  • If you have created a public profile, and you want to set it to private, simply go to your "Account" page, and click "Edit My Profile". You will then be taken to the registration page where you will select the button labeled "Private”.


Q:

What will happen to my videos if I delete a video or my member account?

A:

Your videos will no longer be available to you or the public. They will be permanently removed from our site. So please, give careful consideration as to whether you want to delete a video or your member account.

Where do I report underage users?

A:

You may go to the Contact page on MyStudio.net or email us at contact@MyStudio.net.

How do I change my profile picture?

A:

There are two ways to accomplish this:

  • Upon registration, go to the section that is labeled "Upload Image" and click the "Browse" button. You may then navigate to location where your image is located and select it. When you click the "Modify" button after you have finished the registration, your image will be loaded for your profile page.

  • If you have created a profile, go to your "Account" page, and click "Edit My Profile" or "Upload Profile Picture”. You will be taken to the registration page. Go to the section that is labeled "Upload Image" and click the "Browse" button. You may then navigate to the location where your image is located and select it. When you click the "Modify" button after you have finished, your image will be loaded on your profile page.

Can I make changes to my video?

A:

Not at MyStudio.net. However, there is aftermarket software available to edit video.

Where do I report spammers?

A:

You may go to the Contact page on MyStudio.net or email us at contact@MyStudio.net.

How do I report a site error?

A:

Q:

I cannot create an account.

A:

Please be sure to fill out all required information. Additionally, you must verify that you are 14 years old or over by clicking the age verification check box on the registration page. You must also agree to our terms of use and privacy policy by clicking the check box on the registration page.
